Terms of service
Subscription
Viewpoint is a paid app with a free trial. After the trial, the app keeps working only with an active subscription.
- No account required. You subscribe and use Viewpoint with just your Apple ID — creating a Viewpoint account (signing in) is optional and only syncs your content to your other devices and enables condition alerts. The subscription itself is never tied to a Viewpoint account.
- Free trial — 7 days, full access. You choose a plan when you start the trial; you can cancel during the trial with no charge.
- Monthly plan — €5.99 per month, auto-renewing.
- Yearly plan — €59.99 per year, auto-renewing. About 17% cheaper per month than the monthly plan.
- Payment — processed by Apple. Charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase (after the trial ends) and on every renewal until you cancel.
- On all your devices — because the subscription is tied to your Apple ID, it’s available on every device you sign into that Apple ID. Tap Restore Purchases on the paywall to recover it on a new device. No Viewpoint account needed for this.
- Cancellation — at any time via Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your iPhone. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period; you keep access until then.
- Refunds — handled by Apple via your standard request flow. Apple’s policy applies; we have no way to issue refunds directly.
What the subscription pays for
The fee covers infrastructure costs and the time it takes to keep the app and backend working. It is not a markup on a free product.
What lapses when the subscription does
Your existing captures stay readable on the device after a lapsed subscription — Viewpoint never holds your scouting library hostage. New captures, sync, and live conditions need an active subscription. Re-subscribing restores full use.
If a feature doesn’t work as promised
Tell us directly. If a feature in the app doesn’t do what it claims (a forecast that’s wrong, an alert that doesn’t fire, a sync that drops data), email marcos@marcosbarbero.com or use Settings → Talk to Marcos in the app. We’ll respond personally. If we agree it’s a real gap, we’ll work out what to do about it — including, where it makes sense, a refund through Apple’s process.
Your responsibility in the field
Viewpoint plans and tracks; you go to the place. You are responsible for your own safety, for obeying property access rules, for any permits you need, and for your judgment about whether a location is reachable, legal, or wise to visit. Forecasts can be wrong; tides, light, and weather change. Plan with margins.
See the weather-accuracy disclaimer for what the forecast data can and cannot tell you.
Standard Apple EULA
If you don’t sign a custom EULA with us (you don’t — there isn’t one), Apple’s standard end-user license agreement applies. You can read it here: https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/
Changes to these terms
If we change the terms in a way that affects you, the Last updated date at the top of this page reflects when. Material changes (price increases beyond announced rises, changes to what’s included) will be announced in-app and via the email associated with your account before they take effect.
