3-Second Triage & Export
Pick the slices you want and send them straight to your editing timeline — without ever duplicating your footage.
What it does
After KineticCut analyses a video, it lays out the extracted ~3-second slices as a grid. You tap the ones you want, and KineticCut trims just those moments out of the original and hands them to the iOS share sheet — ready to drop into CapCut, Premiere, or anywhere else. Until you export, nothing is copied: each slice is just a lightweight pointer back into your original video.
When to use it
- You’ve analysed a take and want to grab the best two or three moments.
- You’re assembling B-roll and want clean, trimmed clips without re-encoding the whole video.
- You want to hand specific moments to another editing app.
How it works
- Analyse a video on the Timeline tab.
- Open the Export tab — the extracted slices appear as a grid.
- Tap the slices you want; the selection summary updates.
- Tap Export Selected to Timeline and choose where to send the trimmed clips in the share sheet.
Free vs Premium
- Free: select and export one slice at a time, at the standard 3-second length.
- Pro Creator Pass: export multiple slices at once (batch), and choose custom slice lengths (1s, 3s, or 5s).
Privacy
Everything stays on device. Your slices are stored as lightweight time-pointers — never copies of your video — and a trimmed clip is created only at the moment you export. Nothing is uploaded or stored off-device.
Known limits
- A slice points back into its source video; if you’ve ended the import session that provided it, export will report that the source is no longer available.
- Free exports are one clip at a time; batch export is a Pro feature.
- Exported trims are written to a temporary area and shared from there.
