Scoped Media Intake
Hand KineticCut just the videos you want it to look at — nothing else from your library.
What it does
KineticCut never trawls your whole camera roll. Instead, you pick a small, bounded batch of videos — say, a single day’s shoot — through Apple’s system picker, and KineticCut works only with those. The selection opens a temporary session; when you’re done, the videos are released and nothing lingers.
When to use it
- You’ve just finished a shoot and want to triage that day’s footage.
- You want a specific handful of clips analysed, without giving an app access to your entire photo library.
- You’re privacy-conscious and want processing that never leaves your device.
How it works
- Open the Clips tab.
- Tap Browse Local Volumes.
- The system video picker appears — choose the videos you want (videos only; photos are hidden).
- Your selection opens as a session and the chosen clips appear, ready for the next step.
Free vs Premium
- Free: up to 3 videos per session. Pick more and KineticCut shows an upgrade prompt instead.
- Pro Creator Pass: unlimited videos per batch.
Privacy
Everything stays on device. KineticCut uses Apple’s out-of-process picker, so it sees only the videos you explicitly choose — never the rest of your library — and asks for no broad photo-library permission. It does not collect, transmit, or persist any data off your device.
Known limits
- Only video files are selectable; the picker filters out photos.
- A session is temporary by design — closing it releases the working copies of your clips.
- The picker draws from your Photos library; importing arbitrary files from the Files app isn’t supported.
